Prozis opens 11th factory in the north
One of Portugal’s most successful entrepreneurs, Miguel Milhão, is to open his company’s 11th product manufacturing unit in the north of the country.
Prozis, which makes health food and food supplement items, already employs around 1,500 workers in 10 factories, six of which are in Póvoa de Lanhoso, the others in Guimarães, Braga, and Maia. It turns over €200 million a year.
Now the company has decided build a sock factory in Famalicão which should start production in November.
The company is a big player worldwide in the food supplements area where it has factories producing its own cereals, butters, sauces, frozen food, clothing, bags and even labels.
This 11th factory, which will manufacture the socks, will be in Vale do Ave near Famalicão. The interior floor area of the factory will be 5,000m2, in an investment of around €3 million in a project that will create 50 new jobs in 2023 and 100 in 2024.
Glancing at Prozis site, the company manufactures or produces a wide range of foodstuffs from peanut butter and 100% why protein powder for bodybuilders, to healthy breakfast cereals, lean wholemeal breads, and on to casual sports clothing for yoga, kitchen items, vegetarian foods, and health and wellness equipment and devices.
