Hard Rock International has announced plans to open a Hard Rock Hotel in the Algarve in partnership with Mercan Properties.

The new development close to Praia do Vau in Portimão is part of the group’s strategy to further internationalise and expand the reach of the iconic brand.
Construction on the project is slated for the beginning of next year with opening expected by the summer of 2026. The hotel will have 275 rooms and luxury suites as well as 150 branded serviced apartments.
In addition to direct beach access there will also be various leisure and catering features such as a Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club, three restaurants, three bars, three outdoor pools, a Rock spa, gym, sports area and beach club.
Hard Rock International has establishments in over 74 countries and apart from cafés, casinos and hotels, the Hard Rock Band is also known for collecting rock and pop memorabilia, culinary experiences and Hard Rock Live events.
According to the company the new hotel will create around 400 jobs in the region from the construction phase to operation. The hotel should also increase the potential of the tourism experience in Portugal, offering visitors “an extraordinary and immersive experience”.
The first Hard Rock Café opened on June 14, 1971, in Mayfair, London.
