There will be a record number of 50 Portuguese companies at Fruit Attraction in Madrid early next month — one of the largest fruit and vegetable fairs in the world that runs between October 3-5.

Portugal Fresh, the promotional band from the Association for the Promotion of Fruits, Vegetables and Flowers of Portugal, says that 50 companies and associations will be represented at its stand at the fair to strengthen their position in international markets.
The Portuguese stand will be in Hall 8 at Fruit Attraction occupying 640m2 of space — the largest stand by area ever.
Portugal’s greater presence at the fair comes as Portugal Fresh launches its internationalisation drive with €1.5 million of investment with the aim of becoming more competitive in international markets and achieving €2.5Bn in exports by 2030. The internationalisation project will be 48% financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
“We are returning to Madrid with the conviction that valuing national production is vital for growth. The presence of 50 companies and associations shows that this is an important stage to be in contact with clients from all over the world and focus not only on growing our trading relations with our regular export destinations, but also diversify markets”, says the President of Portugal Fresh, Gonçalo Santos Andrade.
