Bosch invests €100M in Aveiro

Bosch has announced its expansion to Aveiro with an investment of around €100 million to 2026.

The funds have been earmarked for new laboratories, two buildings and additional production lines for heat pumps.
In the medium term the company also plans to increase staff numbers by several hundred at this unit.
“Heat pumps are a fundamental component for carbon neutral buildings, which is why Bosch is following a long term strategy to invest in the expansion of its development capacity to produce heat pumps”, states the company in a communiqué.
Bosch recently announced its decision to sell its Building Technologies division, including a unit in Ovar employing 1,200 people, as well as Eibelshausen in Germany and Tranas in Sweden. Aveiro is an important asset for the company for the development and production of heat pumps”.
Bosch also revealed that it will overall invest a total of over €1Bn in the expansion of this network by the end of the decade.
