Lusíadas Saúde acquires Dr. Wells clinics from Sonae

The Dr. Wells clinics, which provide private dental and plastic surgery treatments, have changed hands from Sonae to Lusíadas Saúde for an undisclosed sum.

In a communiqué, the company (Lusíadas Saúde) which had been acquired by Vivalto Santé, said that it had signed a contract for the acquisition of 100% of the Dr. Wells clinics from the Sonae Group. The clinics specialise in providing health care in areas such as oral health, aesthetics, and plastic surgery.
Through this operation, Lusíadas Saúde has strengthened its position in the dentistry medicine market with the 22 Dr. Wells clinics now being integrated into the Lusíadas network, and will open 30 more clinics all over Portugal in districts such as Viana do Castelo, Vila Real, Coimbra and Leiria.
In January, the Managing Director of Vivalto Santé confirmed in an interview with Jornal Económico that part of the planned growth for Lusíadas Saúde would be made through small-sized acquisitions, clinics being an example.
Today, Lusíadas oral health provision is mostly concentrated in the Greater Lisbon region.
