EDP Renováveis – the renewables arm of Portugal’s electricity giant EDP, has concluded the sale of a portfolio of eolic wind energy projects in Brazil for €300 million to the Norwegian company Statkraft.

According to a communiqué sent by the company to the Portuguese stock market regulator (CMVM), the portfolio includes two 260MW projects located in Rio Grande do Norte, “for an enterprise value of 1,57Bn reais”, or around €300 million.
The two solar parks have been in operation since 2022 and have allowed EDP to take another step towards its asset rotation strategy announced in March 2023.
“With the conclusion of this transaction, EDP has netted around €1.6Bn from operations of this nature, which are included in the Assets Rotation Programme of €7Bn for 2023-2026, announced at EDP’s Capital Markets Day in March, 2023”, states the company in the communiqué.
