EDP issues €750M in green bonds

Portugal’s energy giant EDP has issued €750 million in green bonds with a six year maturity aimed at investors.

It is the latest bond issue of this type from the company led by Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade and is aimed at moving EDP’s green energy strategy forward.
To date EDP has issued some €12.6Bn of green bonds. “EDP was a pioneer and will continue to issue green bonds within the context of the group’s global strategy to accelerate energy transition, based on innovative renewable solutions and sustainable growth”, an official source at the energy company told the business daily Negócios after the bond issue was made on Tuesday.
The bonds were issued via its Spanish subsidiary EDP – Servicios Financieros España and will mature in July 2030.
