The Adeo Group, owner of the Leroy Merlin DIY and bricolage stores, has invested €40 million in a store for professional builders.

The store, which will operate under the Obramat brand widely seen in Spain, will be built in a 40,000 m2 plot of land in Alfragide between the municipalities of Lisbon and Oeiras, and will be its first store in Portugal.
The project will be pursued in partnership with the Spanish real estate developer Bogaris, and will create around 220 direct jobs.
The investment plan includes urban improvements by enlarging the roundabout at the intersection of Avenida Maria de Lurdes Pintassilgo with Rua Cincinato da Costa, as well as alterations to the layout of the Portela highway.
Obramat had been known as Bricomat until the end of 2022 when the brand was changed to Obramat to accentuate its focus on building materials.
The Adeo Group is the third largest retailer in the world for home improvement and bricolage products, and employs over 155,000 people. In 2022, the group, which has over a million stores worldwide, turned over €37.8Bn.
