IPBN Sustainability Conference 2024 Find out more about the upcoming event in Lisbon!

For the 5th edition of its Annual St Patrick’s Day Sustainability Conference, the IPBN will focus on the development, innovation, and the challenges faced in three different areas: Air, Sea, and Food with 3 panel discussions and a couple of talks.

The first panel discussion will review the EU plenary agreement on ReFuelEU in the Aviation sector that Brussels voted last September in the European Parliament. This agreement marks the first-ever Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) mandate in the EU. We will discuss its implications for the transformation of the Aviation Industry.

The second panel will assess the solutions developed to drive sustainable economic value from healthy oceans with the participation of Blueinsight, a Marine autonomous robotics start-up based at the Technology Park CEiiA in Matosinhos and this year IPBN Business Success Award Enerview Solutions, a leading renewable energy solutions company doing business in Portugal and Ireland.

The third panel discussion will be about Food and Nutrition and their interfaces with our health and well-being with the participation of our new academic partner the University Catolica do Porto and its School of Biotechnology. The Higher School of Biotechnology of the Universidade Católica do Porto is a reference institution in terms of university higher education, research in Biotechnology, and training in the food and environmental areas and their interfaces with health.

We will also have two talks with IPBN member and IPBN Business Success award winner 2023 Silvia Correia, Social Entrepreneur, Founder & CEO of re.store and IPBN member Nessa Maguire, Co-founder & CEO of EudaOrg about social and environmental innovation with pedagogy actions to change our current consumption habits and a discussion with two IPBN members about how projects like Oxy Carbon can help companies achieve their carbon zero objectives given the impact and challenges of the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for businesses of all sizes. With the first CSRD reports due in 2025 — for companies with year ending 31 December 2024 – companies should start getting ready to provide accurate information.
