Portuguese sunshine returns to Dublin after 5 years, as new Moving to Portugal Show announced

 In News, Property, Relocating

For the first time since 2019, the Moving to Portugal Show & Seminars is returning to Dublin, with the support of the Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN). Taking place at the Herbert Park Hotel on 18 April 2024, the free-to-attend show will feature a range of expert presenters and exhibitors, covering all aspects of moving to Portugal.

Many Irish citizens have already swapped the harsh embrace of the Irish winter for Portugal’s sun-kissed beaches and fairways. The Algarve, in particular, has warmed the hearts of Irish settlers, with 45.2% of all Irish permanent residents in Portugal choosing to make the region their home.

Two Irish nationals who are deeply connected with the Algarve’s tourism and property offering – Quinta do Lago CEO Sean Moriarty and Reserva da Luz Chairman Gerry Fagan – will be at the Moving to Portugal Show to discuss the region’s benefits. They will be joined by Irish national Des Wynne, CEO of the Algarve’s Lazer Telecom, who will share details of why Portugal is the perfect place from which to work remotely.

“Portugal’s climate, scenery, amenities and emphasis on community promote a holistic lifestyle that is hard to beat — particularly in the Algarve. We’ve seen demand for property here grow exponentially in recent years, with the western Algarve proving especially popular with buyers from Ireland seeking the ideal balance of luxury, affordability and serenity. I look forward to sharing plenty of insights into living and working in Portugal at the upcoming Moving to Portugual Show in Dublin” said Gerry Fagan, Chairman, DDM & Reserva Da Luz.

Experts from Ireland and Portugal will also be onstage to explain the legal, tax, pension and financial implications of making a move to Portugal.

The Moving to Portugal Show will feature several other leading Portuguese real estate businesses, showcasing the wide range of properties for sale in the Algarve and other Portuguese regions.

“We are delighted to be returning to Dublin with the free-to-attend Moving to Portugal Show on 18th April 2024, enabling visitors to obtain detailed information and one-to-one advice from a range of Irish and Portuguese experts. Our focus is on providing comprehensive information that spans a huge range of essential topics. We would encourage anyone thinking of making a move to Portugal to come along and benefit from our seminar speakers’ and exhibitors’ property, tax, pension and legal expertise” said Christina Hippisley, General Manager of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

Portugal is hugely popular with Irish holidaymakers, as well as those looking for a second home or to make a more permanent move overseas. According to Portugal’s Institute of National Statistics (INE), visitors from Ireland accounted for 2,185,063 overnight stays in Portugal in 2023 – an increase of 21.5% compared to (pre-Covid) overnight stays in 2019. Many of those visiting Portugal are captivated by the country’s stunning beachscapes, world-class golf courses, luxurious resorts, local wines and gastronomy.

Registration to attend the Moving to Portugal Show is now open and seminar seats are filling rapidly. The event will run from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm on 18th April at the Herbert Park Hotel, Ballsbridge Terrace, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Anyone ready to start their next chapter in Portugal can book their tickets online.
