Altice Portugal revenues rose 0.6% in Q1 2024 like-for-like on 2023 to €704 million driven by a solid growth in operational results by fixed-mobile convergence, an expansion in its ‘core’ telco customer base, and a growth in average revenue per client in non-telco services.

In Q1 the telco’s EBITDA grew 5.6% to €259 million. Investment reached €99 million compared to €111 million in Q1, 2023. The reduction was down to the fact that the company has already completed practically all the deployment of fibre, 4G and advanced 5G networks.

“The strategic options made in recent years have resulted in a clear improvement in economic and financial performance, together with a continued investment in expanding its fibre optic network, improving the quality of service, expanding the mobile network, and investing in 5G as drivers for providing an excellent service to the client, all contributing towards the company’s positive performance in the first quarter of the year”, sates the company in a communiqué.

Altice Portugal’s strategy includes digital transformation, improved and more diverse products and services, and innovation using tools such as artificial intelligence.

Fixed services grew 0.3% to a client base of 6 million, while TV and internet connectivity subscriptions rose 0.6% and 0.5% respectively, both fixed at 1.9 million subscribers.

Billed mobile clients stood at over 5 million growing 1.5% (77,000 clients) driven by convergence in Q1 of 2024.

As to SME and corporate, the company has managed to invert a decrease in Altice Labs business equipment sales.

Consumer segment revenues stood at €345 million (+2.8%) while service revenues rose 3.7%. Corporate revenues were €359 million (-1.4%).
