30 Portuguese startups to attend South Summit
Startup Portugal will take 30 Portuguese startups to the 13th edition of South Summit, one of the largest entrepreneur conferences in Europe, which runs from the 5-7June in Madrid.
Of the 30 startups that are part of the delegation through the programme Business Abroad – an entity that promotes the internationalisation of national startups in overseas markets — are: BRAINR, BRIDGE IN, Follow Inspiration, greenmetrics.ai, Growappy, InAppStory, Indie Seguros, MIGHTY, Nevaro, and sheerME.
The startups selected are planning to enter the Spanish market or aim to raise more investment and represent the broad sweep of the diversity and dynamism that exists in the Portuguese entrepreneurial ecosystem in areas such as artificial intelligence, health tech, education, E-commerce and sustainability.
The 10 startups selected have already raised a total of €8 million and employ over 120 people. Other startups that are part of the Portuguese delegation are: Ambi Careers, Boost Express, Chrono Health, DUMA, enline, Fluks, Followup Global, GovWise, Granter, Intuitivo, iT Recruiter, Kardz, LockEM, Luggit, Moviinn, Mystic, Purmi, SentiVue, Visible Sports, and WiseWorld.
António Dias Martins, Executive Director of Startup Portugal said: “The presence at South Summit of our Business Abroad programme is a unique opportunity for Portuguese startups to showcase their innovative solutions and establish strategic partnerships in one of Portugal’s most important markets.
“After our participation at the 4YFN conference in Barcelona at the start of the year with 20 startups, this mission to Madrid shows the consolidation of this market as one of the most important internationalisation destinations for Portuguese startups, attracting a record 50 startups on our missions to Spain”.
Startup Portugal is a government backed not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to promote Portuguese entrepreneurialism. It helps Portugal-based entrepreneurs start and develop their own startups, supports overseas or national startups relocate to or within Portugal or open branch offices in Portugal.
It also has a one-stop shop where startups can get all the information, they need to set up operations in Portugal and is designed to help both entrepreneurs and investors, providing online and offline support on a one-to-one basis.
