Technology park expansion plan for Óbidos
Óbidos Municipal Council has sold two new parcels of land at auction for construction at Óbidos Parque – Parque Tecnológico de Óbidos (Óbidos Technology Park).
Both parcels of land were acquired by a company that already has an office in the park’s main buildings. The purchase amounts have not been disclosed.
The council says that the sale is an “important contribution for the strategy to attract and anchor companies in the district, while at the same time pressing ahead with the expansion of the business park which currently has a community of 40 digital, creative and technology-based companies employing around 200”.
“The building on the existing plots at Óbidos Parque – Parque Tecnológico de Óbidos meets the characteristics foreseen in the Lot Licence and the Municipal Director Plan, respecting the installation of the companies whose activities will fall into areas such as research and development and innovation technology; high-quality manufacturing or that require advanced knowledge (non-polluting); supporting scientific-based production, or technology and education, and human resource training networks” states the council.
