Bankinter results up 20% in H1

Bankinter has posted net profits of €473.5 million for the first half of the year, an increase of 13.3%.

The Spanish group’s EBITDA was €715.4 million, an increase of 14.4% of which the bank’s operations in Portugal contributed €102 million, 20% more than the €85 million that it had posted for the same period last year.

The bank currently has a loan portfolio of €10Bn in Portugal (+12%) while customer deposits were up 13% to €8Bn.

Off balance revenues (such as investment funds commercialised by the bank or pension funds) stood at €5Bn. (+24%)

In a press conference in Madrid, CEO of Bankinter Group, Gloria Ortiz said she was satisfied with the bank’s business in Portugal and expects it to continue to grow this year.
