Exports and imports up in the second quarter
Portugal’s exports and imports grew 2.8% and 0.6% respectively, in nominal terms, in the second quarter, compared to the same period last year.
The data were released by INE in a back-of-the-envelope estimate of international trade in goods. At the end of consecutive quarters of decreases in both indicators, in the second quarter of 2024, increases were recorded in both cases.
In the first quarter of this year, exports and imports declined compared to the same period last year. Indicators fell 4.2% and 6%, respectively.
