The Portuguese branding specialist Funnyhow is behind the branding of V+TVI – Media Capital’s new generalist cable channel, which replaced TVI Fiction and went on the air on August 9.

“We wanted to create a versatile brand, looking to the future, but above all easy to understand. And V is literally that: see more of everything you want – more information, more entertainment, more series, more everything”, explains César Sousa, Head Creative Officer of Funnyhow, quoted in a statement.

“In this sense, V turns out to be more than just a design element. It is a bridge between the viewer and the world of possibilities that this symbol offers, promising more content, more innovation and greater connection with viewers and the different themes they are looking for”, he adds.

Hugo Antonelo, CEO of Funnyhow, says that working on such a “significant rebranding” is “always an exciting challenge”. “Our mission was to respect TVI’s legacy, while creating something new and relevant for the future, with this brand that filling TVI Fiction’s space with a television offer designed for the Portuguese public”, he adds.

The project “was developed with the aim of creating a current and versatile visual identity, capable of standing out in a competitive territory, thus reflecting the station’s ambition to offer ‘more’ to its viewers”, reads the press release.

Media Capital’s new television channel went on air on August 9, on all national operators (position 12 on Meo and Vodafone’s programming and 18 on Nos).
