Portugal enjoys third highest growth in Euro Zone

Portugal had the third highest growth (1.9%) compared to the third quarter of 2023, among the countries for which data has already been released.

The Eurozone economy grew 0.4% in the third quarter of this year, compared to the previous quarter, and 0.9% year-on-year, according to Eurostat’s quick estimate released on Wednesday. (Today)

The euro area economy has succeeded in maintaining growth with Germany reversing the slowdown registered in the second quarter (it grew 0.2% in the third quarter, Q-on-Q, as did Portugal) and Ireland as well.

Dublin went from a 1% slowdown from April to June to 2% growth in the following three months – the most significant among the countries for which data is already available. In second place comes Spain, Portugal’s largest trading partner, with +0.8%.
