Engexpor completes the first Sines Data Centre building
Engexpor, a major Portuguese construction company, has completed the construction of SIN01, the first building of the ambitious Sines DC project, developed by Start Campus.
Located in the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone (ZILS), around 45 minutes from Lisbon, the building is a landmark that inaugurates one of the largest data centers in Europe, integrating cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions.
With an area of 21,600 m², distributed on a single floor, and an installed capacity of 14 MW, SIN01 offers several functional zones, including computer, electrical, mechanical and support areas.
This pilot building is the smallest of a total of six buildings planned for the campus, which in its final stage will have 1.2 GW of installed capacity and an investment of more than €8Bn.
With a team dedicated to a highly complex project, the delivery of SIN01 was the result of coordinated and thorough work led by Engexpor, with the participation of more than 20 dedicated professionals who ensured the management of the project in all its phases.
The execution was conducted with a focus on efficiency and compliance with the highest technical and sustainability standards.

Start Campus is developing SINES DC, the largest data centre campus in Europe, located in Sines, Portugal, with a total IT capacity of 1.2 GW.

With a total investment of €8.5Bn, the project is committed to using 100% renewable energy sources and aims for a PUE (Energy Use Efficiency) of 1.1, taking advantage of the natural cooling of the ocean.
