Portugal’s Economy minister to attend Davos
Portugal’s Minister for the Economy, Pedro Reis is to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos to drum up investment for the country according to a statement from the Ministry of the Economy.
The minister and former head of Portugal’s investment bureau AICEP, will be there for two days and already has scheduled various meetings with government figures from Angola and Saudi Arabia.
“The Minister for the Economy will begin a round of bi-lateral meetings on Tuesday with overseas ministers and CEOs of multinational companies as well as international investment funds at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week.
On Pedro Reis’ agenda are meetings with the Minister of State for Economic Coordination of Angola, José Lima Massano, with the Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia, Faisal Alibrahim, and with the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Alkhateeb.
The meetings “aim to strengthen economic ties and attract foreign investment for Portugal on a stage that brings together the main world leaders to discuss the global challenges that influence the financial market and investment decisions”, specifies the same statement.
