NOS acquires Claranet Portugal for €152 million
NOS has reached an agreement with the Claranet group to acquire 100% of Claranet Portugal for €152 million.
In a note sent to the markets, the company led by Miguel Almeida explains that the agreement will enable NOS to strengthen its position as a “relevant technological partner” for company clients, “expanding its capacities in the technology sector” and reinforcing its “strategic ambition” reports the online news service ECO.
Through the acquisition NOS intends to reinforce its value proposal in business areas such as ‘cloud,’ ‘workplace’ cybersecurity and data & AI, among others.”
The signing of the agreement, which values Claranet Portugal at 9.9 times the EBITDA, is still subject to agreement by the Portuguese competition authority.
Claranet Portugal, according to the same note, posted revenues of €205 million for 2024 and made €15.4 million in EBITDA, amounts fuelled by a strong and growing contribution from its services business.”
Claranet has been operating in Portugal since 2005 and employs over 900 staff.
