Glintt buys Prológica to become Iberian leader in health data

Glintt Global has acquired 100% of the capital of Prológica – Sistemas Informáticos, in a “fundamental strategic step” to clearly take the lead in the health data sector” in Portugal and Spain.

“By acquiring Prológica we are able to position ourselves as the main player in this area in Portugal and one of the main players in Spain”, said Glintt Global CEO Luís Cocco to the business daily Negócios, without revealing the value of the acquisition.

Prológica was created in 1984 and is recognised for its experience in providing innovative solutions in the health data area, and while it is not a large company compared to Glintt Life, which produces all kinds of solutions for the hospital sector, it only works on health data thereby risking less from a strategic point of view.

However, it is an acquisition that will have a difference on Glintt Life because it is a key area that will grow a lot.

Glintt Life will absorb around 30 employees from Prológica which is based in São João de Madeira. Glintt Life has offices in Lisbon, Porto, Sintra and Madrid.

“We will join the Prológica team with the Glintt Life team to create a superteam. This is extremely critical because a good and effective use of data in health creates value for both institutions and patients, enabling, for example, an operating block to become more productive,” adds Luís Cocco.

Prológica provides data-orientated solutions by transforming data into valuable insights that enable healthcare institutions to make precise and strategic decisions.
