Coverflex, a flexible compensation and employee benefits platform that allows companies to offer their employees a mix of meal allowances, health insurance, and flexible benefits through a single digital platform and a smart Visa card, has launched a salary transparency module in Portugal that allows any company, even those not already clients, to analyse their gender pay gap and obtain an initial compliance assessment in less than five minutes.

The tool, based on artificial intelligence, is presented as a response to the new requirements of the European directive on pay transparency.

The initial diagnosis is free and, according to the company, the platform transforms human resources and payroll data into a structured analysis of the organization’s salary situation. The system identifies compliant groups and cases requiring intervention, also presenting the factors that explain the identified differences.

The launch comes at a time when Coverflex reports that 44% of Portuguese organisations do not feel prepared for the obligations of the European Pay Transparency Directive, whose transposition deadline ended on June 7, 2026.

In the document, the company also cites a 12.5% pay gap in Portugal, rising to 21.8% in the private sector, and underlines that the national legislative framework remains undefined.

According to Rui Carvalho, co-founder and chief operating officer of Coverflex, the objective is to help companies continuously organise their pay structure, instead of resorting to hastily conducted, one-off analyses.

Inês Odila, the company’s country manager in Portugal, argues that the tool was designed to accelerate access to data and prepare organisations for the new European rules.
