José de Mello Saúde profits down 4.6% in 2017

Profits at private health care provider José de Mello Saúde fell 4.6% to €22.8 million in 2017.

 

Strong investment that year coupled with an increase in financial costs led to poorer company results.

Consolidated profits for José de Mello Saúde  stood at €22.8 million in 2017, down €1.1 million in relation to 2016, says the Portuguese stock market and securities commission CMVM.

“Reflecting the strong investment in 2017 and consequent increase in financial costs, the financial results were €10.5 million negative (€1.6 million on 2016). It means that José de Mello Saúde’s net profits stood at €22.8 million, an annual decrease of €1.1 million (-4.6%) on 2016”, states the company’s financial report related on Monday evening.

In 2017 the company’s operational profits stood at €637.5 million, up 8.7% on 2016.
