The Horasis conference brings investors and business leaders to Cascais until Tuesday. Among the notable attendees are the ex-president of Egypt and Noble Peace Prize winner Mohamed El Baradei and the chairman of Goldman Sachs, Jose Durão Barroso.

Dubbed the “mini Davos” the second edition of the Horasis Global Meeting which began on Saturday brought hundreds of entrepreneurs and investors from all over the world to Portugal, many of whom have intentions to invest in the country.

Last year the Horasis Global Meeting gathered 600 world leaders in politics, academia, religion and business to discuss how to jointly inspire our future. This year they are meeting to discuss and devise novel ideas which will help sustain and nurture future development.

Over the four-day conference, talks and discussion will revolve around sustainable development, modelling sustainable migration, blockchain, closing the gender gap, the digital future, embracing AI, youth employment, business as a driver for change and religion’s role in business.

The annual Horasis Global Meeting is one of the world’s most important conferences for business leaders who interact with key government officials, policy makers and thinkers.

Also attending the event are Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan,  the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Peter Mutharika, President of Malawi.

The Chairman of Horasis, Frank-Jurgen Richter said, “At Horasis we recognise that identifying globally relevant issues and growth strategies require thought leadership and peer-to-peer networks.

“With a number of leaders already confirmed, I am excited to see how this year’s collaborative efforts can inspire our future.”

Horasis was founded on three core beliefs: sustainability via long-term and robust solutions which deal with issues of strategic importance for corporations and society; Principled leadership which dispenses with power and embraces generally accepted principles; and Community building, with an open exchange and interaction of people, Knowledge, and services to inspire collaborative growth and well-being.
