NOS revenues up 10%

Profits for Portuguese telecoms company NOS were up 10% in the first half of 2018.

The company said that profits topped €80 million while investment reached €100 million on the back of 5G.

Growth in profits down to new customers increased in the second half of the year with almost €80 million in the first six months of the year. In the same period investment was almost €100 million.

Based on a growing customer base, the operator led by Miguel Almeida revealed that the number of services provided has increased by 2.6% like-for-like on 2017 to 9.499 million customers in the first six months of the year.

This increase reflects a growth of 3.9% in mobile business to 4,728 million for fixed broadband, 0.8% on fixed voice and 1.5% on fixed television services.

“Exploration revenues saw a 0.5% growth to €389.3 million, with telecommunication revenues up 1.8% thanks to a 2.6% growth in the number of services. This was in the second quarter alone while accumulated receipts for the fist half of 2018 increased 0.6% to €772 million. EBITDA stood at €305 million, an increase of 2.6%.
