A real estate investment company owned by US tycoon Warren Buffet is to invest in Portugal.

The multimillionaire will enter Portugal’s real estate market via the subsidiary Berkshire Hathaway HomesService.
Considered one of the richest men in the world, Buffet, after having invested in Spain, will now invest in the Portuguese market. It is not known what investments will be made but an official announcement will be made by the company’s international representatives on Friday.
Last year, Buffet’s real estate company invested in the London and Berlin markets. In July, via the same subsidiary, Warren Buffet invested in Spanish real estate in partnership with the Spanish company Larvia to sell properties in the mid-range and luxury markets.
In February, the Spanish property company Barcelona Proto Group announced that it would partner BHHS to open 150 estate agencies in Spain.
According to Forbes, Warren Buffet is the third richest person in the world, with a fortune estimated at US$82 billion (€74Bn). He is beaten in the wealth stakes by Bill Gates (US$96Bn) and Jeff Bezos (US$131Bn).
Warren Buffett is yet another international investor that has entered the Portuguese market over the past few years. According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), house prices climbed 10.3% compared to the previous year.
