Portugal postpones company national insurance payments

Following a raft of measures announced by the Portuguese government to help struggling companies, monthly social security contributions have been suspended from 20 March.

Company national insurance contributions, in Portugal referred to as the Sole Social Tax (Taxa Social Única) will be regulated by the Government in terms of deferred payments.
It means that the payment due today (20 March) will not have to be met by company bosses, but can be deferred and likely repaid in instalments during the crisis.
