Kiss My Score is the latest Portuguese startup to raise capital in the pandemic.

The football social network has just bagged a €150,000 pre-seed investment according to an announcement made this week.
This operation will enable the Portuguese platform to develop new tools, grow the team and help more clubs and brands to reach their fans.
Announced on the eve of the return of Premier League football, this capital injection was led by Portuguese business angels CoreAngels and was signed after Portugal began feeling the effects of the Coronavirus writes online news source Dinheiro Vivo.
With over 400,000 users, mainly in Portugal, France and Brazil, Kiss my Score allows betting on the results (without money), exchange messages among themselves, or join private leagues or even official ones.
Sport Lisboa, Benfica and FC Cologne are the main partnering clubs. The Portuguese startup also has a partnership with the international sports data company Octa Sports.
At a time in which football games are being held taking place without fans in stadia, Kiss My Score wants to reach out to its fans and brands.
“While traditional football fans were happy seeing matches on TV, today’s football fans are more demanding. To satisfy this new generation of fans we have to make them feel part of the game with the excitement of the results and give them more information about what is happening (a second screen wit the statistics in real time).
Last, it is vital to guarantee that this is social and enjoyed among friends” says João Duarte, leader and co-founder of Kiss My Score, quoted in a press release.
Currently operating with a team of five, Kiss My Score was founded in February 2018 and is being developed at Build Up Labs, an applications and startups studio from ComOn which is based in Lisbon.
