Mitchell appointed ASTA rep in Portugal

The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has appointed Lisbon-based travel professional, Sheree M. Mitchell, as the president of its new Chapter in Portugal.

ASTA Vice President and International Membership & Host Agencies, Bob Duglin stated: “ASTA is very excited about our new chapter in Portugal under the leadership Sheree M. Mitchell from Immersa Global.”
As an American travel professional with an extensive global network and deep knowledge of Portugal, Mitchell plans to leverage her connections to build strong relations between members of the Portugal Chapter and ASTA’s partners in the US.
“It’s an honour and privilege to have the opportunity to start and lead this new ASTA Chapter in Portugal. Even in a year like 2020, I strongly believe that the timing couldn’t be better,” says Mitchell.
“While ASTA continues to advocate diligently for our industry, Portugal continues to earn international recognition as one of the leading destinations in the world,” she adds.
“Now with an ASTA chapter in Portugal, I look forward to working with local members to help build back better in 2021 and beyond.”
Mitchell is the president & founder of the upscale inbound tour operator and destination management company Immersa Global. She has over 15 years of experience designing international travel for the affluent consumer market in the US and is often engaged to provide insight for international media as well as industry conferences, trade shows, and publications. Mitchell lives in Lisbon and is currently studying Sustainable International Tourism Development at Harvard University.

ASTA was founded in New York City in 1931 and currently has 27 international chapters around the world.
