An innovative Portuguese startup which has designed an application for skateboard users has received €570,000 in venture capital investment.

Hunter Boards which has an independent suspension, has received seed series investment in an operation led by the fund Founders Fund from Shilling in partnership with Olisipio Way, Ideias Glaciares, Wisenext, Startup Braga, Core Angels and various business angels.
The startup, founded in 2019, will use the investment to increase its team, scale up production and launch a mobile application for users. The company’s aim is to transform micro-mobility at an international level.
“This (investment) round is a reflection of the hard work that the team has done, particularly over the past 6-7 months. Today we are in a position where we can pick and choose the investors we want.
“Launching a brand of electrical vehicles in Portugal is not easy, but we are able to prove that we can launch complex hardware projects which can have a global impact from Portugal,” says the co-founder of Hunter, Pedro Andrade, quoted in a communiqué.
“We really like Hunter’s vision for the future of micro-mobility and all that they have managed to do in a short space of time. They have their own technology and an ambitious team to operate in global markets and this is perfectly in line with our investment strategy,” says Pedro Santos Vieira of Shilling.
