The president of the Portuguese Association of Estate Agents and Real Estate Professionals (APEMIP) Luís Lima is to stand down.

According to the property magazine Vida Imobiliária, Lima, who has led the association for 8 years, cited family and health reasons, recalling the many years of both personal and family sacrifice working for the professionalisation of the real estate market.
According to Vida Imobiliária, APEMIP has taken a key and relevant role on behalf of the real estate sector publicly, with Luís Lima giving its members high visibility over the past 12 years.
His shoes will be filled by the new president, Paulo Caiado who is the CEO of the SIIM Group which has five estate agencies operating under the REMAX brand.
In statements to Vida Imobiliária, Paulo Caiado said he would ensure continuity with the present board and that a date for board elections would be fixed as soon as possible.
Luís Lima will still be involved affairs to do with the Portuguese Construction Confederation (CIMLOP) and all the other functions at APEMIP that do not form part of the responsibilities of the president.
