Algarve offers cheapest holidays

The Algarve is the cheapest holiday destination in Europe at the moment according to the Holiday Money Report 2021.

The report also reveals that Madeira was the 10th cheapest holiday destination. But Sunny Beach in Bulgaria was the cheapest holiday destination in Europe as a whole.
The report compiled by Post Office Travel Money shows that the top 3 comprises European countries and that Sunny Beach in Bulgaria is the location that costs less for a range of eight items which are typically tourist (a three-course dinner for two people, including wine; a bottle of beer; a glass of wine; a can of cola; a bottle of water; a coffee, sun protection and insect repellant)
For this holidaymakers have to pay just €32.71 (£27.71), which is the lowest cost in the world.
This destination is followed by Marmaris in Turkey where tourists have to spend €43.12 (£37.19) for the same list of items.
But within the Eurozone the Portuguese region of the Algarve most stands out at the cheapest in a ranking of 46 International destinations, with the items costing €51.17 (£44.13) which is explained by the huge number of tourists who come each year to the region on holiday.
