Technology hub for Gondomar
Dutch consultancy firm Metyis which develops proprietary, commercial and open-source technology platforms is setting up a technology hub in the Portuguese town of Gondomar.
Based in Amsterdam, Metyis says the project will create 10000 highly-qualified jobs in the new technology centre close to Porto.
The first phase of investment for the project should be completed by the end of 2021.
The future Metyis Campus will be built in an area located between the Fernando Pessoa University Hospital and the town hall.
The works on the technology centre will begin on 29 June in the presence of Yogen Singh, CEO and founder of Metyis and the Mayor of Gondomar Municipal Council, Marco Martins.
A service provider in technology, digital consultancy and management, Internet of Things, big data and e-commerce, Metys has 15 offices spread around the world. It has identified three investment locations in Portugal: Porto (UPTEC), Lisbon (Palácio Sotto Mayor) and Faro.
