SIL returns 7-10 October 2021

In News, Property, Real Estate, Trade and Sector Fairs

Portugal’s largest property fair SIL is back in Lisbon between 7-10 October 2021 after a rather limited event and physical attendance last year because of Covid-19 restrictions.

This edition intends to show the resilience in the Portuguese property market that in 2020 attracted nearly €3Bn in overseas and national real estate investment from funds, family offices, private investors and equity investors.
With this year set to see at least €2Bn of investment according to forecasts from Cushman & Wakefield it seems like that with the end of restrictions the pavilions will once again be filled with stands, stalls, investors, real estate developers, estate agents and, of course the general public looking to fund a bargain new home.
As usual the challenges and opportunities in the current real estate market both nationally and overseas will be debated by panels of experts at the SIL PRO Conferences. The conferences will debate different topics, one of which on the table will no doubt be the EU funds which will be made available in the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the impacts that these funds will have on the real estate sector.
At the same time, SIL, which is organised by Sandra Fragoso and her team at FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa – pictured) will debate sustainable construction, energy efficiency and future trends for the sector.
As usual the best real estate development projects in different categories from new build to restoration will be distinguished in the various categories of Sustainable Construction and Energy Efficiency, Best Real Estate Development – in the categories of Commerce, Servces, Logistics; Housing; Tourism – and Urban Rehabilitation – Housing, Tourism, Public Spaces; Offices; Commerce and Services.
Despite the 2020 fair being operated under unusual circumstances, with a much restricted presence and few exhibitors and stands and less footfall than in normal years, the feedback given the circumstances was fairly positive with an expectation that more floorspace would be made available for 2021.
The SIL Portugal Property Fair brings together all of the key players in the Portuguese real estate sector from investors, business leaders, associations and developers to banks, estate agents, rehabilitation companies, public bodies, including municipal and city councils and in all segments: luxury and middle class housing, hotels, retail, commerce, tourism and second home tourism resorts.
As in previous editions, SIL will run parallel with Tektónica, Portugal’’s fair that represents the building and constriction sector showcasing the latest building methods, materials and themes that dominate civil construction and engineering in Portugal today.
