BCP ‘Best Digital Bank’ in Portugal

Millennium bcp has been elected the ‘Best Digital Bank’ in Portugal by the magazine Global Finance in its ‘World’s Best Digital Bank Awards 2021’.

The magazine also distinguished BCP with the ‘Best Bank for Corporate Information Security and Fraud Management’, ‘Best Bank in Marketing and Services on Social Networks’ and ‘Best Consumer Credit Bank in Western Europe’ in 2021.
“These results are yet another important recognition that our investments in talent and technology have paid off and have allowed us to meet our clients’ ambitions”, said Miguel Maya, CEO of BCP in a communiqué released by the bank.
The good news comes after the bank faced a day strike at the start of October which also involved staff at Santander who came out in protest against the programme of collective redundancies that are ongoing at both banks.
At the time of the strike, Miguel Maya told staff that the strike would have “no impact whatsoever” on the bank’s activities.
“We’re not going to comment on opinions or draw any conclusions as is often the case to do so. The bank operated totally normally without incidents”, said Maya to the staff.
The two banks selected 250 staff to quit the companies after failing to reach an amicable settlement with them. Unions said it had been the bank strike with the best turnout and adhesion rate in the past 33 years.
