Blackrock holds 10% of EDP
The asset management company Blackrock now has a 10% share in Portugal’s electricity giant EDP.
After increasing its capital share in the company led by Miguel Stilwell, it has now consolidated its position as the second largest shareholder.
Blackrock announced its capital increase in EDP from 7.38% to 10.01% on Tuesday in a communiqué sent to the Portuguese stock market commission CMVM.
The acquisition of 2.63% of the company’s capital took place on Monday 28 March.
Now the shareholder is the second largest behind the EDP shareholders EDP. China Three Gorges is the major shareholder with a 20.22% share.
At the close of business on Tuesday, Blackrock’s share was valued at €1.7Bn.
