Bosch Portugal sales grow 5% in 2021

Bosch Portugal sales increased 5% to €1.7Bn in 2021, with appliances, devices, machinery, heat pumps and tools manufactured in Portugal being exported to over 50 countries, representing over 97% of sales.

In 2022 the company foresees hiring over 350 staff in Portugal with an investment of around €100 million according to the company which made the announcement in a press conference on Tuesday in Porto.
The company is also planning to expand its premises in Braga with two new buildings to increase its production, technology and R&D capacity.
Bosch is also planning to expand its units in Ovar to house research and development teams, and Aveiro with a new building for logistics and shared areas for staff.
In 2022 the German Group hopes to increase sales on 2021. At the end of 2021, the German group had 5,788 staff in Portugal spread out over its facilities in Braga, Ovar, Aveiro and Lisbon.
In Ovar its video surveillance, building security and communications technology systems saw sales up 36% on 2020, after having fully integrated the client support, bicycles and intelligent homes departments.
In Aveiro, its production unit for heaters, boilers and pumps saw improved sales of 26%,”the biggest increase in recent years.
There was a more modest increase at its two units in Lisbon which focus on consumer goods (home electrical appliances) which saw increases of 16%, while its service solutions department saw sales grow 15%.
