Integrated on the Smart Open Lisboa Platform (SOL), Lisbon Municipal Council has launched the SOL Energy Transition with Beta-i to help make Lisbon carbon neutral by 2030.

SOL is an innovative programme powered by the consultants Beta-i focused on boosting energy transition in Lisbon towards a net-zero city.
Aligned with the city council’s (CML) target to make Lisbon a carbon neural city by 2030, the programme aims to create innovative solutions by fostering collaboration between Portuguese companies and startups all over the world, which would enable a leap forward in terms of the city’s energy transition. Applications are open now.
3xP Global, Adene – Agência para a Energia, Ana Aeroportos, Brisa, Carris, Delta, EDP, Energia Unida, Galp, Sonae Sierra, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Vieira de Almeida are programme partners.
Once defined, startups and SMEs from all over the world can sign up for the programme to develop pilot projects and get support in testing the solutions developed using up-to-date data in a real environment with a view to improving the city. The closing date is 28 November.
“Having a carbon neural city by 2030 is an essential goal not only to combat climate change, but os also a big challenge which needs to involve all stakeholders.
“We believe that only that way can we come up with solutions that make an impact, are scalable and allow companies and citizens to take a significant leap forward on energy transition in the city”, said Diogo Teixeira, CEO of Beta-i.
