The CEO of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Chris Barton is celebrating 25 years at the helm of the organisation that has been facilitating bi-lateral trade between the two countries for 111 years.

Rui Pedro Almeida, CEO and Managing Partner of Grupo Moneris and Chairman of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce paying tribute says on LinkedIn: “For a quarter of a century, Chris has done a lot to better the BPCC. We will always be indebted for all his efforts and hardships.
“It takes a person with a strong character and willpower to stay enthusiastic and devoted to their job after so many years of service. Times were different back when Chris started. Being able to adapt was key to remaining at the helm of the organisation.”
“It has probably been more than 10 years since I met Chris. I have witnessed his loyalty and work ethic, his dedication and commitment to excellence. It is a privilege to continue to serve the British-Portuguese business community by his side”.
Chris Barton thanked Rui Pedro Almeida for his kind words and noted that it had been “an honour” to lead this “esteemed organisation” during a period of radical changes – I could not have achieved anything without the enthusiasm and loyalty of the support team around me, some of whom have been with me for the vast majority of these 25 years”.
