The US fund Davidson Kempner (DK) has notified the Portuguese competition authority AdC on its purchase of a number of tourism assets from banks, including 17 luxury hotels in what at €800 million was the biggest real estate deal last year.

In an announcement published on Monday in Jornal de Negócios, the authority led by Nuno Cunha Rodrigues informed about a note from Hospitality Living Portugal, an affiliate fund controlled by DK, about the exclusive control of a portfolio of hotel, residential and other real estate assets that had been managed by the restructuring fund ECS.
These involve 17 golf courses in the North, Lisbon and the Algarve, a shopping centre in Funchal and two warehouses in Alenquer and Famalicão.
