Sonae sells Dr. Wells clinics to Lusíadas Saúde for €4.7 million

MC, a Sonae company, sold 22 Dr. Wells clinics to Lusíadas Saúde for €4.68 million according to the group led by Cláudia Azevedo in its annual report for 2023.

According to the company’s integrated results sent to the Portuguese securities market commission CMVM on Thursday, MC sold MCCare – Serviços de Saúde, which has the Dr. Wells brand, on 31 January.
The contract for the sale of the chain of clinics specialising in oral health care provision, aesthetics and plastic surgery, had been announced in November and got the green light from the Competition Authority on January 10. The value of the deal at that time had not been revealed.
However, the sale does not include the 270 Dr. Wells pharmacy stores up and down the country which continue to belong to Sonae.
