Bank of Portugal and Bank of Spain beef up cooperation
The Banco de España and the Banco de Portugal held a bilateral meeting at the headquarters of the Spanish central bank in Madrid on Thursday, with the aim of strengthening relations between the two institutions. According to the institution led by Mário Centeno (pictured), issues of common interest were addressed, and agreements and alliances were signed in different areas.
Governors José Luis Escrivá and Mário Centeno led the respective delegations, which were also attended by Vice-Governors Soledad Núñez and Clara Raposo.
“In order to explore collaboration channels, throughout the day, the elements of both institutions held several meetings on the economy, financial stability, behavioural supervision, statistics, banking supervision, information technologies and environmental, social and governance objectives,” adds the BoP.
