Two-thirds of Portugal’s companies against four-day working week
A considerable chunk of Portugal’s companies is against a four-day week while only a fifth have adopted a working from home model.
Moreover, over half say that increasing the minimum salary to €1,000 per month after tax is sustainable.
This is according to a survey conducted by the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP) which found that even among those companies that were prepared to consider a four-day week they didn’t want it to be mandatory.
The survey quizzed 523 companies between October 12 and November 11 last year with 70% of companies saying they were against the introduction of a four-day week and 71% saying it should not be mandatory.
