The Portuguese technology company Critical Software, with an international presence in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA), is opening a new office in Boston, Massachusetts. This expansion strengthens the company’s presence in the US and aligns with its ambition to develop the Medical Devices industry.

“Boston is one of the top five global startup ecosystems. The business affordability, university support and the city environment make this the ideal location for our next phase of growth,” says Philipp Roessler, Critical Software’s Manager for the US market.

The Boston ecosystem emerges as the ideal place to promote Critical Software’s vision and connect directly with key players in the sector. The city’s universities, including MIT and Harvard, along with the availability of highly skilled talent, including software engineers and data specialists, provide opportunities for collaboration with key industry players, offering a solid foundation for growth in medical technology.

With this new office, Critical Software seeks to strengthen its strategic value with growing sectors linked to medtech and life sciences. The expanded footprint enables the company to streamline partnerships with medical device manufacturers and healthcare innovators by providing advanced solutions spanning software engineering, critical systems management, and regulatory-compliant technologies tailored to the medtech industry.

The relationship with the US technology market has been part of the company’s strategy since the beginning. In 1998, its collaboration with NASA marked the organisation’s start in the critical technology solutions sector. This expansion will allow it to continue to explore the synergies between the European and North American markets, reinforcing the company’s experience and innovation capacity.
