BOA Hotels, the group behind the luxury serviced apart-hotel Village by BOA in Porto, has announced the expansion of the brand in Portugal with the opening of a 5-star wellness resort in the Douro.

With an investment valued at around €50 million, the resort is scheduled to open in the winter of 2028. The resort will be built in Armamar, where the current Quinta da Barroca is located, on a property surrounded by more than 26 hectares of vineyards, orchards and picturesque hills.

The project, which involves a unique 5-star wellness resort in the Douro, will have 70 rooms and suites, a Spa, and 50 private villas, creating around 100 new jobs, and management of the project in an integrated manner with the surrounding community.

The project has been designed by architects from FAT – Future Architecture Thinking and the interior design by Ingrid Aparicio from Bacana Studio (which did the interiors of Village by BOA).

BOA Hotels has also announced the opening of another new project in Greece, a 28-room boutique hotel & spa in Lefkes, on the island of Paros, with an opening date scheduled for 2027.
