MIPIM 2025, the largest annual property sector fair in France, opened on Tuesday with a strong Portuguese presence.

The Cannes event, which brings together investors, developers, and international real estate sector players will run until March 14 with an estimated 20,000 stakeholders from 90 countries , discussing the main challenges and trends in the sector such as sustainability, digitalisation, and the state of the investment market.

Portugal will be in force at the event, with an extended delegation led by the Stand Região Lisboa and the Stand Greater Porto, which will be joined this year by the stands of the Municipalities of Médio Tejo and the Municipality of Fundão.

The Iberinmo Group joins the Lisbon Region stand to promote a mobilizing agenda, creating a joint promotion space that will include the municipalities of Lisbon, Almada, Loures and Vila Franca de Xira, as well as entities such as the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors (APPII) and more than 25 companies in the sector, including Fidelidade, Habitat Invest, Krest, Vanguard Properties, VIC and VOGUE Homes.

“This event brings together the main international players, allowing regions to promote projects, attract investments and follow the evolution of the real estate market», says Joana Almeida, councillor for Urbanism at Lisbon City Council.

The Lisbon stand will have a busy agenda, with activities that promise to attract a large number of international visitors, with lectures to which the Iberian capitals – Madrid, Barcelona and Porto – are invited to discuss the trends and challenges affecting the sector.

“The presence of companies and developers at the stand will strengthen the region’s ability to attract investment and increase its projection on the international real estate panorama”, adds Joana Almeida.

The Lisbon Region stand is located in Pavilion 1, E.50 from where projects and challenges that will shape the future of the region will be debated.

Throughout the week, several Investor Talks and City Meetings will take place, and, at the end of each day, there will be a time set aside for networking at which a selection of the best Portuguese wines will be served in a relaxed format to foster contacts between local authorities and the main players in the real estate sector.

MIPIM is considered a showcase of European real estate and Portugal’s strong presence at the event reinforces the growing interest in the national real estate market. With multiple sources of capital channelled to the country, international investment has been fundamental to the dynamics of the sector, both in corporate institutional investment and in real estate development.
