Portugal’s Association of Real Estate Investors and Developers (APPII) has set up a strategic partnership with the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK (PCCUK) aimed at strengthening commercial ties between Portuguese real estate developers and British property buyers.

According to data from the Portuguese borders and immigration service SEF there are around 45,000 British citizens living permanently in Portugal, which makes it the second largest overseas community living in Portugal (after the Brazilians).
Moreover, since 2018 more than 7,500 British visitors have take part in seminars and ‘Moving to Portugal’ events organised by the chamber in London and which have consistently shown that there are many potential British buyers prepared and waiting to buy properties in Portugal.
This new partnership between the APPII and the PCCUK offers Portuguese real estate developers a unique opportunity to get to know British property buyers who attend these seminars in the UK better. This is down to the fact that members of the APPII can now get privileged access to promote (their developments) at the renowned ‘Moving to Portugal’ seminars under special conditions.
Christina Hippisley, Managing Director of the PCCUK said: “This partnership will facilitate and create a new direct sales channel between Portuguese developers and British and Irish buyers.
“The vast range of properties in Portugal is very appealing for those who are looking for the idyllic place to call home, or a place to retire, buy a second home, and an investment”, she adds.
As part of the partnership, the APPII and Portuguese developers will be present at the roadshow ‘Moving to Portugal’ in Dublin in February 2024 and a similar events in London in March and October 2014.
