Portugal ranked at 9th most attractive investment destination in Europe
Portugal is continuing to strengthen its position as a top investment destination in Europe.
According to the latest edition of the EY European Attractiveness Survey, Portugal cements its position in the Top 10 recipient countries for Foreign Direct Investment, ranking as the 9th most attractive country in Europe, with 186 projects announced in 2025. The country also secured 8th place in job creation, generating 11,591 new jobs. Investor confidence in Portugal’s trajectory remains remarkably strong, with the country increasingly viewed as one of Europe’s most promising destinations for future investment.
Portugal also delivered a standout performance in the sectors shaping the future economy, ranking among the Top 5 host countries in Europe for AI and Data Centre FDI projects in 2025 – a powerful signal of the country’s growing strategic relevance in digital infrastructure and next-generation technologies.
These results are not accidental. They reflect Portugal’s growing international competitiveness, strategic Atlantic location, highly qualified talent pool, and increasing relevance as a European hub for innovation, technology, cleantech, and sustainable industries.
